Earlier this year I went with some friends to the Phoenix Zoo. I was driving them nuts trying to get the perfect picture of the tiger, when he got up and started walking around his pen. This is nothing out of the ordinary, till he got to the center near the largest tree. He took one look up the tree and jumped straight up the trunk onto a large branch. He spent about 15 minutes exploring the tree and seeing just how high up he could get. Finally he grew bored of his tree and decided to jump back down. Really made me think about what it would be like to walk around in Africa and look up and see a tiger in the tree!

Good shot here too, unsual way of capturing a tiger.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like it. I have been to the Phoenix Zoo so many times, but this was a case of the right place/right time combination. I have another of him mid-jump when he was leaving the tree, but I felt this captured it better.
