Lonely Tree

This was taken this weekend at Sunset Crater, Arizona. We took a day trip to explore, and the day was this beautiful overcast that made the day even better. This shot is of a lonely little tree coming out of the old lava flow.

Sunset in the Desert

Driving home from San Diego, and this is what we were seeing in the rear view mirror. Luckily we had time to stop and snap a couple photos to remember it by. It was a beautiful sunset.

Geronimo!

This weekend I went white-water rafting down the Salt River Canyon! I will be posting more of the pictures from that trip here, but I had to start it all off with this one. This was taken near the beginning of our trip where we were all given the option of jumping from a huge rock in the middle of the river into the chilly water below. This is my friend Mike right as he takes the plunge. Believe it or not.. I jumped from that same rock not long after! It was very cold water, but so much fun!!

San Diego Sunset

This was taken at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery located on Point Loma, San Diego. This was taken with my first digital camera over 7 years ago. Its great what you can do even with a mediocre camera if you have a setting as beautiful as this.

Burros

One of my favorite things to do while hanging out at my grandparent's cabin is to go on walks and hikes in the surrounding area. One such hike brought me outside a local horse rescue facility. As I walked towards the pasture, a young burro came out to investigate who had come to visit. He was very cute, and soon his mother followed him out to make sure he was okay. It was a very sweet image, and I wanted to share it with you. I hope you enjoy.

I wish I had written down the name of the horse rescue facility, but I am pretty sure it was this one: www.newhopepmuequinerescue.org

Red, White, and Blue

Driving through northern Texas last year we came across this salty plain that contrasted with the deep blue sky and red asphalt of the highway.

Stormy Days

The past few days have been wonderful here in Arizona. Plenty of clouds and rain, not something we get terribly often. As I arrived home from work this evening my boyfriend met me at the door very happy about a tornado watch in effect. Have I mentioned he really loves weather?
A tornado watch is pretty rare here, so we figured we would drive around and see as much of the storm as we could before it got too dark. Unfortunately it just was a lot of wind, but I was able to snap this on our way back. This was taken in Pinal County, Arizona.

Snowball Fight!

Walking through the neighborhood in Star Valley we found little pockets of snow here and there. Just enough to get a pretty good snowball fight going. I tried to stay in the background just taking pictures, but my dad thought I needed to be part of the fight.
I saw him start to toss the snowball my way, but instead of ducking like a normal person I waited to snap the shot first. This of course meant I was hit.. luckily under the camera but right in the chest so it melted down into my shirt! Hopefully the picture is worth it! I thought so. :)

Snowy Cabin

This was taken at my Grandparent's Cabin in Payson right after Christmas.
