Red, White, and Blue

Driving through northern Texas last year we came across this salty plain that contrasted with the deep blue sky and red asphalt of the highway.

Stormy Days

The past few days have been wonderful here in Arizona. Plenty of clouds and rain, not something we get terribly often. As I arrived home from work this evening my boyfriend met me at the door very happy about a tornado watch in effect. Have I mentioned he really loves weather?

A tornado watch is pretty rare here, so we figured we would drive around and see as much of the storm as we could before it got too dark. Unfortunately it just was a lot of wind, but I was able to snap this on our way back. This was taken in Pinal County, Arizona.

Snowball Fight!

Walking through the neighborhood in Star Valley we found little pockets of snow here and there. Just enough to get a pretty good snowball fight going. I tried to stay in the background just taking pictures, but my dad thought I needed to be part of the fight.

I saw him start to toss the snowball my way, but instead of ducking like a normal person I waited to snap the shot first. This of course meant I was hit.. luckily under the camera but right in the chest so it melted down into my shirt! Hopefully the picture is worth it! I thought so. :)

Snowy Cabin

This was taken at my Grandparent's Cabin in Payson right after Christmas.

Old Tree

Along the rim of the Grand Canyon this old tree stands. Blue sky up above, and snow below makes a nice contrast. Finally getting some cold weather here in Arizona, so here is a picture with some snow in it to celebrate.

Early Morning Ride

A balloonist out on an early morning ride. This is our view from the road as we were driving north on our way to Flagstaff earlier this year.

Waiting for Fish

This pelican learned that if he waited near where the fisherman clean their catches that he could occasionally score some tasty fish. All he had to do was sit there patiently.
