We have been getting some very neat clouds the past few weeks, and I had a chance to stop and snap a couple of them. They only seem to hold this form either in the early morning or the late afternoon. This was taken in Queen Creek, Arizona.
I took this while experimenting with perspective shots. This is my cat Mia who was very patient with me and posed several times while I was snapping her picture. This was taken in Gilbert, Arizona.
I first saw a building of this shape on the streets of Paris. I was fascinated by the shape because what exactly do you do with the sharp corner space? When I visited Washington D.C. I came across this gem. I loved the colors of the building, and the unique shape. You never know what you might find while exploring!
As I was going through my photos I came across this shot. My boyfriend looked over my shoulder and commented that it looked like a narrator for a nature show. This wasn't what I was going for when I took it.. but now I can't see this picture any other way! This was taken at the Phoenix Zoo in Arizona.
Arizona is a very dry state, and one of the things communities have done is build man-made lakes. Definitely adds a different feeling then many lake-front properties you see. Residents will get exclusive access to "their" community lake and they are often stocked with fish.
A large bird built her nest high up in the center of one of the saguaros. We tried to get close enough to make out what type of bird it was, but it flew away before we could identify it.
This was taken in the San Tan Mountains, in Arizona.
Many people think that saguaro's only grow with one central trunk and two or three neat arms coming from either side. Fact is they grow however they want to! Here is a great example as the arms are growing from all sides, and even arms growing off the arms.
Here's a shot from the bottom of an average height saguaro cactus. Hope this gives you an idea of just how tall these tend to grow! This was taken in the San Tan Mountains in Arizona.
I live in Arizona and have all my life. However I have traveled both with work and for personal reasons. I wanted to put together a site where I could post some of my favorite pictures and hopefully motivate me to go out and take more.
